About Advocates
Advocates promote the library through Friends of the Library initiatives, specifically funding issues. There is always work to be done during the County budget cycle to help the library maintain its level of funding for continued program support.
Every 5 years or so there is a Library Levy Campaign, which Friends members actively engage in and support.
How to Advocate for the Library
1. Sign up for Friends eNews and Alerts
Keep up to date on what's happening with the library.
2. Understand the Library Budget

3. Volunteer for the Library Levy Campaign
Every five years a Bond measure or Levy is put before the voters as an additional funding mechanism for the Library. Currently the levy supports 54% of the library’s budget.
4. Participate in the County Budget Process
The Library receives 32% of its budget from the county government. Friends of the Library members are called on to actively participate in the process by attending and testifying at public meetings, contacting their respective County Commissioner by phone, mail or email and voicing their support for continued adequate funding for our library system.
