Volunteers at the 3rd Annual NW Book Festival.
A Lively Presence
For the first time, the Friends of the Library was a lively presence at the 3rd Annual NW Book Festival which took over Pioneer Courthouse Square on Saturday, July 30th, 2011. Over 50 Northwest authors, publishers, and bookstores were represented. Our centrally located booth was festooned with banners presenting our logo.
Volunteers handed out brochures, gave impromptu lectures on the benefits of being a Friend, and even worked on the folks taking a rest on the steps. These efforts resulted in 13 new memberships and many more promises to join online. Let's hope this is the beginning of an FOL tradition.
