It was an honor to serve as the Chair of the Nominating Committee this year. We have five fabulous new Board members! They are:
Nathan Brunette: Nathan is a lawyer at Stoel Rives, LLP, specializing in intellectual property litigation, and brings to the Board significant experience with technology issues. He moved to Portland in 2008 and has a two and a half year old daughter who enjoys attending library programs.
Tama Filipas: Tama has worked at the Hollywood Library for over 13 years. She leads the nonfiction Pageturners group there and is very excited to join the Board!
Jane Gigler: Jane has lived in Portland for two years, having previously resided along the Oregon Coast. She still remembers receiving her first library card at the age of five. She is a librarian and has been actively involved in supporting libraries for years.
Ali Harvey: Previously a member of the Friends of the Walla Walla Library, Ali has been extremely active with FOL since moving to Portland a year ago, volunteering on several committees before she was even on the Board!
Kirsten Leonard: Kirsten has served on numerous boards in Portland, taking on leadership roles for many. She has been a member of FOL for several years and has volunteered at our fall sale. She was most recently employed as the School Business Manager at Lincoln High School.
