We are getting close to ballot time.  Ballots should start arriving next week!  One simple thing that all of us can do to ensure that measure 26-125 passes is to send an email to all of our Multnomah County contacts.  Sending an email will help to spread the word that there is a library measure on the ballot.

I urge you to use the example below to contact individuals and groups in Multnomah County who are on your emailing list.  Feel free to make it your own.  This is an inexpensive and fast way to get the word out and now is the time to do it.  If you wish to make any changes in the copy, that's fine. The important thing is to do it now!

Craig Cedros, President of Friends of the Multnomah County Library

Sample subject line:

"65% of Library Funding at Risk"

"Love your Library, Vote Yes"

"Why Vote for the Library Levy?"

“Will your local Library be open in the Fall?"

Sample email text:

Did you know that our library system is due to lose 65% of its operating budget if the Library Levy doesn't pass in May?  Our beloved library will be badly crippled and many neighborhood libraries could close.  I can't say it more plainly: Your library needs your help!

PLEASE:
Vote Yes on Measure 26-125 in the May 15th election (start watching for your ballot around April 27th)

Go to this website for further info on what you can do: Keep Our Libraries open - Yes on 26-125

Pass this message on to everyone you know and ask them to pass it on to all their friends.

Vote as soon as you get your ballot.  A high turnout and high "yes" vote is critical for this election!
