Violet Schad

Violet is a relative newcomer to Portland and the Board having lived in Virginia for 15 years before moving to the Northwest. She has her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Library Science from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC.

Her family consists of a son and daughter-in-law in VA, one daughter working in the Dominican Republic, two daughters and her husband who live with her in NW Portland. She volunteers at Lincoln High School Library, Sister's of the Community in Tigard and at the Friends store. She teaches Sunday school at SW Church of Christ where she attends with her family. She enjoys traveling, hiking, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and her two pets, Bear and Sweetie. While Northwest is the closest branch of the Library, Central is her favorite.
