Great Libraries Deserve Great Friends

The Friends of the Multnomah County Library (FOL) advocate for and support our outstanding public library. We are committed to providing supplemental funding for library programs and services, and sponsoring activities which engage people who value our library.

Sales and Store

The Friends conduct the biggest book sales in Oregon each Spring and Fall. The Friends also run the Friends Library Store in the lobby of the Central  Library. Merchandise includes used books as well as original art and items which appeal to library lovers.  You can also visit our online store.

Advocacy and Grants

The money raised by FOL funds the Libraries Yes! PAC, a political action committee dedicated to securing public funding for libraries. In addition, FOL provides grants for children's programs, adult literacy, the Pageturners, author visits, library staff enrichment, and management planning.

Each Spring, the Friends Annual Meeting features a well-known author. The Friends are also looking forward to joining groups such as Literary Arts and Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) in sponsoring events for library lovers.

Join the Friends today and help support your library.

FOL is a 501(c)3 organization and is proud to be a member of the Oregon Cultural Trust. Our EIN is 93-6097526.
